Mel Gibson Celebrity Hand Cast
Mel Gibson Celebrity Hand Cast
A Mel Gibson signature and hand imprint cast cement panel which was displayed at Planet Hollywood's Wall of Fame in Seattle, Washington circa the late 1990s. Panel measures roughly 22 1/4"" x 22 1/2"" x 1 5/8"" for size reference.
Overall, this piece is in nice condition with various signs of wear and damage such as chipping, areas of top coat/sealant peeling, staining, cracking, and general edge and corner wear. Includes damage to the signature. The brass name plaque is no longer attached to the panel and does exhibit scratching, scuffing, and surface abrasions that does not capture well in photos. Please, inspect pictures for further condition details.
WHAT IS THE STORY HERE? WHAT IS A PLANET HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITY HAND CAST?
Back to the Past Collectibles is excited to have in our possession the only remaining celebrity hand casts from the legendary Planet Hollywood Seattle! Originally opened in 1996 to much fanfare, the restaurant featured these custom-made hand casts on the front entrance of the building. Each cast includes the celebrity's personally drawn autograph and hand prints.
The infamous “Battle for Seattle” WTO riots in 1999 went right past this location and the casts bear the marks of that event.
The site closed around 2002 and was demolished in early 2003 to make room for the new Taphouse Restaurant and Bar of Seattle.
We have procured the casts that were removed from the site by the demolition team and have affidavits signed by both the owner of the company and the person who was personally responsible for their removal.
These are the ONLY celebrity hand casts that still exist from Planet Hollywood Seattle, and now you have a chance to be one of only 12 people lucky enough to own this piece of Hollywood history!
